Feb. 11th, 2013 09:08 pmSo, my old Kindle wasn't working. It kept freezing and rebooting itself, or else I'd have to do a hard reboot on it, and finally it just froze up and stopped working entirely.
I called Amazon, and the customer service rep said they'd send me a replacement, free of charge, even though I was out of warranty.
It was delivered today, so I opened it, and started downloading my archived items to it. I also took the cover off my old Kindle and put it on the new one, and then I went to eat my dinner. When I returned the new Kindle, like the old Kindle, had its screen frozen!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I went to the Google machine, and come to find out, the cover was known to cause problems JUST LIKE THIS to the Kindle. I hastily removed the cover from the new Kindle, and it's fine, do not worry. But it looks like I just needed a new cover, not a new Kindle.
Sadly, all my downloads from AO3 are gone, I suppose because Amazon will only archive things you buy from them. Woe.
