I BFF ship them like burning and am happy that the writers apparently realised what a gem of an actor and character they have here. (My face during the latest episode: :DDDDDD)

OMG the BFF shipping! He's the brains and she's the brawn and EVEN MORE BRAINS. I love how delightfully smart and scary they both are.

I saw a clip of interview with the actor, and evidently the growing relationship was the plan all along. So, wow, go writers!

Suddenly my trust in the writers of this show has increased by tenfold! Can't wait for the next ep, the holiday break was bad enough. *makes grabby hands*

So I'm not the only one who sees dom!Emily/sub!Nolan potential -- oh thank god. I had such an embarrassing exchange over on Tumblr recently when I mentioned that I saw that as a sexy subtextual possibility and the Internets responded with a resounding W T F? lol

BTW, the very best Emily/Nolan fic I've ever found is this, which does not explicitly hit my femdom buttons but their dynamic is kept intact with sex added in so it's like... definitely some power stuff going on there.

I think that often femdom just doesn't occur to people for whatever reason. Though, if Emily were a man and they were a slash ship folks would be all over that, so... I guess it's cultural narratives of what dominance ought to look like & the higher comfort level with seeing men in that role.
