5. Stop getting norovirus, I cannot throw up anymore  or else I will die and not finish the blanket.
6. Always hate celery.
7. Determine how to prevent my lumbar vertebrae  from crumbling into dust. <— spoiler: this seems to be impossible.
8. Since above is impossible, get surgery.
9. Watch the mail for my invitation to Taylor and Travis’ wedding.
10. Declutter and organize home office <— actual goal?!?
11. Enjoy this Olivia Dean album while I wait for Noah Kahan’s new release.
12. Make and enjoy many chai lattes and Thai iced teas.
13. Continue to wait breathlessly for the next season  of ~~Interview with the Vampire~~ The Vampire Lestat!
14. Actually go on a trip this year?
15. Enjoy my candles.
16. Read more books. <— lifelong goal.
17. Do not look back on 2025 with any fondness.

And this one hits the second part of the request, a story about ALL of the songs. This weaves all the songs together into vignettes, tied together with magic. vialethe (I KNEW IT!) takes the reader into each song, a quick but deep dive that feels even more intimate with the use of second person POV. Gorgeous language and gorgeous imagery, some heartbreak and some hope. ♥♥♥

A rock band gets stranded in Cicely while looking for the Northern Lights. They have a robot dog, but he's not even the weirdest part of their story. Welcome to Cicely, Even the Odds.

for feroxargentea, who wanted early season Northern Exposure, featuring Maggie and Joel, and some magical realism. They mentioned a celebrity visiting Cicely, so I decided on a rock band (with a robot dog) getting lost on their way to see the Northern Lights. Weirdness ensues, as it always did in Cicely, but funny (I hope!), gentle weirdness, the kind that seems to happen on the daily with NE. I had a lot of fun writing it, and I was glad my recip liked it!

I read this trilogy this past year, and I'm kind of obsessed? Historical Russian fantasy, SIGN ME UP! Luckily my friend vialethe ALSO is kind of obsessed by these books, and made them one of her Yuletide requests, naming Vasya and Morozko! Among the things she asked for:

-A wedding between the two of them would be incredible - where would they hold it? In Midnight? At Morozko's house that is and isn't really there? At Baba Yaga's? Who would attend? Vasya's human family? All the horses? Medved?? The possibilities are endless and amazing. I can see anything from a rather human ceremony (if Olga got wind of it) to a quiet moment on the lake between just the two of them.

I figured I could pull that off! And I think I did? I wanted to get all the characters she loved into it, so I thought a wedding would be the best way for them all to show up. It's short, though, and it's mainly cameo appearances lol, but I loved thinking of all the ways they could attend the wedding.

I had a really crazy month of December and I wasn't sure I could actually finish and post it, but I did! Early in the morning of December 25th, because I am nothing if not last minute about things. :D So I wish it was a bit longer, but I had not time. And I think it worked quite well for a bit of wedding fluff. I did try to get the feel of the Winternight Trilogy in there -- they had to get married in the snow, of course, and the wedding felt like a dream, since so much of canon felt dreamlike to me.

Also, Medved wrote the wedding invites. :D

Anyway, vialethe was happy! And other people liked it as well, so it was a success by my measure of Yuletide.

AND now I am out of Yuletide jail! I think! We'll see if I can sign up next year, lol.
