It's Yuletide, it's Yuletide!
Hello, Yuletide Writer!
First off, thanks so much for writing a story in one of these fandoms. I love them all, and will just be so glad to have any story for any of the requests.
Some of this letter has been duplicated from last year's, so if you've been here before, that is why things seem familiar. :)
In general, some things I love: great dialogue/witty banter, humor, stories that are bittersweet but still have happy, or at least hopeful endings. I love when stories make me laugh AND cry. I love canon explorations and world-building - what was going on here during this moment, and what was happening elsewhere, and backstory on people and things we only know a little about.
I love character studies and relationship (not just romance - friendship, family, etc) stories - I always want to know more about these characters I love, why they did this or that, how they react in new situations, that kind of things. Caveat: I don't really love vignettes or navel-gazing pieces, where one character mulls for the entire story on his/her life decisions. I want interaction with other characters and dialogue.
I am very happy with genfic, but I'm fine with romance (slash and het) and porn too. I am also good with characters having babies - especially in futurefic, or where it's canon (thinking specifically of Lumatere here).
I love crossovers, if they fit with the fandom, time-framewise, tone-wise - I've got some suggestions below. But no pressure if crossovers aren't your thing!
If character pieces aren't your thing, I am extremely happy with adventures of all sorts, or plotty gen stories. Like I said, I love all these characters and want to see them in action. :D
Things I would not like in a fic: extremely grimdark stories. Unhappy endings. I like some hurt/comfort, but not character torture. I would not like genderswap/always-a-different-gender in any of these fandoms. Please no rape/non-con/dubcon, hardcore kink, mpreg, misogyny, extreme graphic violence, or character-bashing.
Code Name Verity - Elizabeth Wein
Julie Beaufort-Stuart, Maddie Brodatt
I would love more of Maddie and Julie, anyway you want to write them. Best friends, in love, fix-it fic where THAT ENDING did not happen, whatever you choose.
Honestly, anything. A day in their lives, an adventure they've gone on, an AU where the rescue works… I ship them, not gonna lie, so if you want to give them a romance - maybe a start? a first kiss? it doesn't have to be explicit - I would be happy with that. But if you don't ship them, just them being bffs and happy, for however long it can be. Or maybe a fic about Julie, and her shifting identities, or how she plays with lies and the truth.

"But a part of me lies buried in lace and roses on a riverbank in France-a part of me is broken off forever. A part of me will be unflyable, stuck in the climb."
If you don't want to go the AU route, I would love to see something about Maddie coping with the loss of Julie.
Rose Under Fire - Elizabeth Wein
Jamie Beaufort-Stuart (Rose Under Fire), Maddie Brodatt (Rose Under Fire), Rose Justice, Róża Czajkowska
Tell me about Rose and Roza after the end of the story - where do they go? How do they move on, from what happened, and still stay a part of each other? Alternately, tell me about Jamie and Maddie, how they fell in love. Or you could have all four of them in a post-book story - maybe celebrating a holiday?
Future fic maybe? Show me Rose and Róża, or Jamie and Maddie forty, fifty years on. Maybe reunite Rose and Róża with Irena and Lisette? Does Rose ever go home to America? Or the stories Rose would tell the others in Ravensbruck - the the lake stories, the Nick stories - if you could use one of those, I'd love it.
Maybe a story about Jamie and Maddie going back to France, to that riverbank where Julie is buried? Or just tell me how they got together - these two people who are tied together by the loss of Julie - does she fall in love with Jamie because he's Julie's brother? Does he fall in love with Maddie because she was Julie's best friend? Do they keep Julie alive, by being together? Or! Maddie says to Rose that Julie would never have survived Ravensbruck - I'd love to see more of that thought explored.
I just feel like these characters are survivors, and I want to see how they live, after they survive. And this book is so full of hope - painful, terrible hope, but hope nonetheless. Show me what that hope brings. Feel free to use Anna or Irina too - I couldn't request everyone here, but I am interested in them all. Whatever strikes your fancy here, I would love to read it.
The Montmaray Journals - Michelle Cooper
Sophie FitzOsborne, Veronica FitzOsborne, Toby FitzOsborne, Simon Chester
Oh my gosh, I would love anything here. I love all the characters, even ones not nominated, so feel free to include Henry or Aunt Charlotte or Barnes. More adventures of Sophie and Veronica during the War! Sophie spying! Futurefic with them all on Montmaray! Anything!

I would take any story in this fandom. Please feel free to use the other characters in the story too – they weren't all nominated, but I love them all. Some suggestions: tell me about Simon, after he left Sophie and disappeared – what was he doing all that time? Tell me how Toby and Simon got back together, and how they made things work with Julia (I am total hardcore OT3 about them :D). How about Sophie and Rupert and Veronica and Daniel and Toby and Simon and Julia rebuilding Montmaray? Futurefic with them and their families on Montmaray! Or pre-book adventures, with them growing up on Montmaray! I’d love romance here, for any of the characters, although I admit, I am pretty OTP with Sophie/Rupert as endgame.
I would also love crossovers in this fandom! Maybe one with Code Name Verity? I could totally see Sophie and Veronica crossing paths with Julie and Maddie at some point. Or Peggy Carter from the Captain America movies! Or even with Narnia – Susan could meet with Sophie, or Peter could be in the RAF with Toby! The Lumatere Chronicles - Melina Marchetta
Finnikin of the Rock, Isaboe, Lirah of Serker, Gargarin
I would like to see more of this world - perhaps Lumatere when Finnikin and Isaboe were young. Or a story about Isaboe, how she survived and became Evanjalin, and how she knew she needed Finnikin to reclaim Lumatere. Alternately, I would love a story about Lirah growing up, or her life in Charyn while imprisoned, or her relationship with Gargarin.
I would love more fic about any of the characters in this fandom. Like I said, backstory on Lirah would be great. Use any of the other characters too, I am just sorry I couldn't request them all! I'd love expansion and world-building here. This world feels so epic, I'd love an epic story - maybe Finnikin and Froi traveling to Yutland Sud, to find the missing heir! If you're not up for an epic, perhaps some future fic? How does life in Charyn proceed for Lirah and Gargarin? Or worldbuilding - what is life like for all the Charynites, now that there are children again? Or I'd love to see Quintana and Isaboe meeting again, under any circumstances, good or bad.

Oh, I am going to miss Stefon on SNL so much. I would just love a funny story about these two, maybe how they first got together? Or what Stefon and Seth do on a night in.
Be as outrageous or ridiculous as you want. All I want here is to laugh. You go nuts. :D
The Stand - Stephen King
Fran Goldsmith, Stu Redman, Tom Cullen, Lucy Swann
I just want more of these characters, after the end of the book. Tell me about Fran and Stu making their way to Maine and the people they meet there, or along the way. Or did they ever return to Boulder and meet up with Tom or Lucy again? Or what happened to Lucy after Fran and Stu left. Or maybe Tom's life in Boulder - does he still dream of Nick?
Weirdly, for such a long book, I still feel like I didn't have enough of the story. I want to know what happened next. I am especially interested in the four characters I chose, but I like the others nominated too. The suggestions I gave in the prompt are all things I'd like to see, but if you have other ideas, go for it!
