Journalfen server status: not so robust ;)
In case you were one of the people wondering!
Regarding Journalfen being down, I checked with the JF admins, and this is what I was told:
It's not down for good. They had to cancel the old servers while migrating to the new ones, because double server payments were too expensive. The problem is that the old LJ code is too hard to install on modern servers now, so they're going to have to try to get a dreamwidth codebase installed and then find a way to import the old entries.
So it's only the old LJ codebase that's gone for good. Evidently it will be tricky importing all the old entries and comments, and it might take a while, but they're pretty sure they can do it!
There should be a placeholder up at journalfen.net soon, explaining this! HERE IT IS!

crossing fingers a complete migration will work. and will not break bookmarks to past posts! (that maybe is a tall order. I'm afraid.)

Luckily, Google pointed me to this post. I guess they just never bothered to update that bit.

It's positive in that she wants to move forward, but it doesn't seem to have a date or schedule on it.
